Apt aspirations from the 8th century

I found these words from 'A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life' which Santideva, a Buddhist scholar wrote in the 8th Century on the Still Point Zen Buddhist Temple's website. (A Bodhisattva is someone who, although capable of it, defers enlightenment to help other beings on earth.) I thought that these aspirations with Ganesha's big ears and powerful trunk  would make for a good combination.

May the poor find wealth,
Those weak with sorrow find joy;
May the forlorn find new hope, constant happiness and prosperity.
May the frightened cease to be afraid and those bound be free;
May the weak find power,
And may their hearts join in friendship.
